James Dumpucks someone who thinks with his dick.
My first experience into the Scammers world was when I was in school working on the commodore 64. I was looking at publishing some work and James DiMaggio made contact with marty about starting a company.
Soon Prism was a big name because James was a great marketer. He had flash and made big noise.
The problem with James was that he was only basically intrested in one thing. Unlike most of us, that one thing took precedence over anything and everything else.
I worked for Prism for around 3 years and in that time made $2000. Of Course after the first year others got in touch with me to do some small side projects and I used to make like $2-300 every month on these jobs which basically took a couple of hours.
We never got paid for years even though I had to travel cross country to release products and fix bugs etc. Any money that came in, James immediately spent. And in the end I left and he wanted an update. And told us that he sold some copies and it was worth around $1000. Since we never expected to get paid anything and the update was already done, we decided to at least make something out of the years of work.We gave him the update and he gave us a check which we expected to bounce but it was fine.
I remember how he had not still paid us after an year while on tour in Tennessee but he hired models to represent the site at the show. So he had money for hookers and models but just no money to pay the guys doing the work. I was angry at this point that he never gave me any cash but paid for Petrol for my car himself which he was also using to drive around. Years of work and I am like owned. Having to beg others to send me money to buy gas so I can leave. But he has money to hire hookers?
I was still in school and was working on an update to superkit. But you can not survive on nothing and the part time jobs I took never paid much but just enough to live on. All the big talk from James was just that, talk. To us, Prism never sold much and not working out, but to others the big parties and events james threw was a big hit as you can read in the many magazines of the times.
We decided that we would not give the new version to Prism until hd had paid us all the money for the previous versions. His own auditing said our share was $3500 each over the previous 2 years. He sent us a check and wanted the new version immediately but we told him it was almost finished but needed testing and delayed it. Which was a good thing as his checks bounced and cost us like $100 from the bank and we basically stopped finishing the new version.
This is James living room... It was the cleanest place in his apartment and we all fought to get to sleep on the couch..
James found some others who called us and pleaded with us that they will fix things and it was a new company and stuff and they needed a new version to sell. We kept telling them that almost 3 years had gone by and we got paid $1000 and that was not even enough to live in poverty. If they wanted the update then they have to pay us everything that was owed, which was a figure from James himself which he low balled anyway. They kept saying they would send a new bank cashiers check but that never happened. The new version was still months away so basically threw away almost an years work but there was no point in continuing and competition was heating up anyway.
